Community Service

In order to earn a community service cord for graduation, students must have 100+ hours from grades 9-12 on file.

Do you already have some activities lined up or already completed and you need to document it? 
Just fill out the Community Service Documentation form and email it to jaime.canida@maypearlisd.org  or turn it in directly to Mrs. Canida.   
 
Do you need some ideas on where to earn community service hours?  
You can accumulate hours for doing almost anything that serves others (outside of your immediate family) and that you do not receive any sort of compensation. 
For instance, mowing your neighbor's lawn for free when they are too sick or too busy to be able to do it themselves, serving in your church's nursery, going on a mission trip, volunteering to work in the school concession stand, etc.  Find something that you enjoy and get creative!  
 
Here are some upcoming events that could get you started:  
 
MHS Athletic Concessions         
Once each sport season begins, you may check the schedule online and sign-up in the counseling office.
 
Mobile Pantry Express Volunteers (Food Pantry)         
3rd Saturday of each month         
Arrive at the Maypearl Fire Station by 8 am to sign in and receive training.

You must be High School age or older to participate.  
 
Manna House          
Manna House is located in Midlothian and has volunteer information on their website.   
 
Pee-Wee Sports Volunteers          
Contact Mrs. Canida for more information.   
 
Peer Tutoring          
Contact Mrs. Canida for requirements and to set a schedule.
